Are you experienced in one-to-one tutoring or looking to support students outside of mainstream education?
We are currently seeking passionate and committed English and Maths Tutors to work with children and young people who require additional academic support. This flexible role is ideal for newly qualified teachers, teaching assistants, or individuals with experience supporting students with additional needs.
About the Role:
As a tutor, you will work on a one-to-one basis with students who may be looked after, have special educational needs, or are currently not attending mainstream education. Sessions will take place face-to-face at the student’s home or in a local community setting (e.g., a library). You will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored sessions focused on core subjects, particularly English and Maths, to help students re-engage with their learning and make academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and personalised lessons in English and Maths.
Plan and adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
Use assessment methods to track progress and provide feedback.
Implement strategies to support behaviour and maintain engagement.
Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
Ability to deliver lessons that are both curriculum-based and tailored to the pupil’s current level.
Confident in managing behaviour and supporting students with additional needs.
Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
Desirable: Experience working with children with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
