Company Overview: A leading building contractor with a busy and growing workload, seeking to strengthen their team with a Preconstruction Manager to tender on Industrial & Distribution projects.
Responsibilities: As part of a close-knit team reporting to the Preconstruction Director, your duties will include:
* Bid Strategy & Submission: Structuring and submitting tenders, coordinating disciplines, writing proposals, reviewing documents, leading presentations, and managing tender communications.
* Technical: Reviewing tender documents, ensuring sufficient information for pricing, managing RFIs, assessing ground conditions, and reviewing buildability and risk.
* Commercial: Obtaining proposals, reviewing quotations, exploring value engineering, and incorporating opportunities.
* Programme: Assisting in programme preparation, reviewing tender and prelims.
* Post Tender: Managing questions, negotiations, tender handover, and supporting site teams.
Requirements: To be considered, candidates must have:
* Knowledge of the building sector.
* Experience as Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Site Manager, Site Engineer, Design Coordinator, Bid Manager, or similar.
* Previous employment with a main contractor preferred.
* Strong communication and writing skills.
* Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC).
* Site engineering background is a plus but not essential.
Location: Northamptonshire office, with some remote work available.
