This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy logistics operation as an Operations Manager, overseeing day‑to‑day site activities and ensuring exceptional customer service delivery.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing all site operational activities through a team of supervisors, warehouse staff and support personnel. You will drive operational excellence, ensure compliance with health & safety standards, and support the General Manager with the delivery of customer and contractual commitments.
This role requires a hands‑on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, builds strong relationships, and motivates teams to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and manage operational teams to achieve daily, weekly and monthly performance targets.
Oversee all warehouse and site management functions, deputising for the General Manager when required.
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, security and Quality Management processes.
Maintain strong customer relationships, working closely with the Customer Service team to meet KPI and service expectations.
Support with budgeting, reporting, and KPI production.
Manage stock control processes in line with internal systems and procedures.
Drive continuous improvement, proactively resolving issues and implementing service enhancement plans.
Maintain accurate operational and financial records.
Ensure effective communication across all departments, building strong internal and external working relationships.Skills & Experience Required
Experience working in and supervising within a warehouse or logistics environment.
Strong team leadership and people management experience.
Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.
Good understanding of P&L, budgets, and financial processes.
Knowledge of Health & Safety standards — NEBOSH/IOSH desirable.
IT literate and confident with warehouse systems and Microsoft Office.
Formal management training or qualifications ideal but not essential.
GCSEs as a minimum; A‑Levels or degree preferred.Willingness to undertake additional training, such as:
