About the Role
This is a true 360-degree position where you'll manage existing Commercial Insurance Clients whilst also handling new business enquiries. You'll be the main point of contact for local businesses, supporting them throughout their entire Insurance lifecycle.
Working in a busy but supportive environment, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of regional Clients including local Retailers, Property Owners, Tradespeople and small Fleet operators across East Anglia.
Key Responsibilities as Commercial Account Handler
1. Managing your own portfolio of local business customers
2. Renewal negotiations with insurers
3. Handling mid-term adjustments and changes in risk
4. Claims notification and liaison (supported by dedicated claims team)
5. Regular client contact and relationship building
6. Occasional client visits across the local area
7. Using specialist broking software and electronic trading platforms
Commercial Classes You'll Handle
8. Small to medium commercial combined risks
9. Local shops, offices and property owners
10. Tradesman's liability for regional contractors
11. Small fleet and goods vehicles
12. Local business risks across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex
What You'll Bring as Commercial Account Handler
13. Commercial insurance experience
14. Excellent customer service skills and local market understanding
15. Strong work ethic and ability to remain calm under pressure
16. Relationship-building skills for face-to-face client interaction
Working Arrangements
17. Hybrid working available (office and home-based)
18. Occasional client visits across the local area
19. Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
20. Based in Ipswich with coverage across East Anglia
