Job Summary
Accountability for overseeing the promotional process and timelines—completing relevant analysis to enable the category teams to deliver effective promotional programmes and pricing.
Fully support the Category Controller (CC) in delivering strong promotion plans and pricing for our retailers and consumers, impacting revenue, income, and margin.
Duties
PROMOTIONS
* Manage the end-to-end promotion process.
* Coordinate the production of the annual promotional plan, discussing and agreeing it with stakeholders.
* Manage timelines and activities during each promotional period to ensure timely delivery and quality.
* Analyze promotional performance and recommend improvements based on sales, margin, uplift, and consumer response.
* Make recommendations to the CCs regarding offers, margins, and effectiveness at each stage.
* Enhance processes for effective promotions and pricing, working with key stakeholders and utilizing tools like SharePoint.
PRICE
* Manage system requirements for pricing and support the category teams in achieving financial targets.
* Provide data to develop pricing strategies, including market comparison and target differentials.
* Identify pricing issues and recommend solutions at product and category levels.
* Work with IT to identify and resolve pricing anomalies.
Skills
* Experience in trading or commercial buying, ideally in food retail.
* Strong relationship management skills with large stakeholder groups.
* Experience working in a change-oriented environment.
* Ability to develop processes and work collaboratively with IT teams to implement solutions.
