Dermatology Staff Nurse
Join our Dermatology Service in Outpatients A at Borders General Hospital. We are developing a new model of care and seeking enthusiastic registered nurses with an interest in dermatology to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
 * Application of topical treatments and dressings for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
 * Management of wounds, including leg ulcers and application of compression bandages.
 * Provision of skin therapies such as ultraviolet B phototherapy, photodynamic therapy and iontophoresis.
 * Providing support and advice for patients and carers regarding acute and chronic skin diseases.
 * Assisting in skin biopsy procedures and contact allergy testing.
 * Training to undertake nurse-led lesion photography clinics.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in dermatology nursing is preferred but not required. In‑house training and further study will be provided, with possible placements outside NHS Borders. The post holder will also be required to undertake exposure‑prone procedures.
Additional Information
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. If assessed as a regulated role, appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom or be eligible for sponsorship. NHS Scotland will verify entitlement to work in the UK as part of pre‑employment checks.
