Overview
West Herts NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a full time, Resident Doctor ST3+ (MN37) to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department. You will become part of an experienced and supportive team of Specialty Doctors and Registrars working across St Albans City Hospital and Watford General Hospital.
Responsibilities
The main responsibility of the role is to provide high-quality specialist inpatient and outpatient care to patients with trauma and orthopaedic problems referred by General Practitioners and other hospital colleagues. You will provide supervision and support to Junior Doctors and non-Consultant medical staff daily, participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, and contribute to Clinical Governance activities, audits, and national audits.
* Your primary responsibility will be for Trauma and Orthopaedics including experience in Elective Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery.
* Your clinical duties on the Orthopaedic wards will include ward rounds, attending, and assisting in theatres and clinics. You will take part in the on-call rota with consultant supervision.
* You will be encouraged to participate in Clinical Governance activities, undertake audit and contribute to national audits, and actively pursue further professional development opportunities.

We will ensure excellent learning and training opportunities for you to specialise in either hip & knee replacements, knee arthroscopies, foot and ankle, hands, shoulder & elbow surgery. With a new hospital planned for Watford, work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital and plans for a neighbourhood healthcare centre in Hemel Hempstead, this is an exciting time to join us.
