Join to apply for the Youth Support Practitioners role at ERA Blavier (Suffolk County Council) on a part‑time, permanent basis based in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Salary: £17.04 hourly (includes £14.82 base + 15% unsociable hours allowance).
Responsibilities
 * Provide day‑to‑day support for vulnerable children in a home setting.
 * Build strong, trusting relationships with young residents.
 * Safeguard all children from threats to health and welfare.
 * Maintain a safe, sensitive environment that meets the needs of children.
 * Develop and maintain relationships with parents, social workers, teachers and other professionals.
 * Maintain accurate, detailed records.
 * Deliver effective communication within the home and with external agencies.
 * Assist in planning and implementing care plans for children with support from multidisciplinary teams.
 * Administer children’s medication in accordance with established procedures.
 * Attend and participate in team meetings, supervisions and training sessions.
Shift Pattern & Hours
 * Fixed shifts: 7am‑6pm and 5:30pm‑11:30pm with sleep‑in duty.
 * 24/7 coverage in a home operating 365 days a year.
Qualifications
 * Full, current driving licence or alternative means of transport meeting mobility requirements.
 * Willingness to undertake training as required to update knowledge and skills.
 * Ability to work fixed shifts providing 24/7 coverage.
 * DBS checks or police vetting required.
