We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Assistant Planner, to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.

A Junior Planner plays a vital role within the PMO team, offering essential support to the Head of Planning in various administrative tasks, including:


* Maintaining the Scheduling Toolset: The Junior Planner will manage the Primavera P6 toolset by assigning new licenses, creating planner profiles, managing and assigning EPS elements, and performing general housekeeping tasks. They will also be involved in the P6 architecture design.
* Supporting Planner Recruitment: They will assist in the recruitment process for planners by helping with role advertisements, the onboarding process, and candidate selection and placement.
* Documenting Processes: The Junior Planner will support the writing and maintenance of planning and scheduling process documentation.
* Ensuring Schedule Maturity: They will play a crucial role in ensuring schedule maturity by conducting coding checks and schedule health assessments.
* Building and Maintaining PMO Schedules: They will build and maintain PMO schedules for business improvement projects while learning the skills of planning and scheduling.
* Organising and Note-Taking: The Junior Planner will maintain organised folder structures and may be required to take detailed notes during stakeholder meetings and assist in setting up these meetings.

Key Selection Criteria

Working within a team

* Experience of working in a team environment
* Experience in supporting / collaborating with the team to drive results

Knowledge and experience of working within an integrated programme

* Awareness of the planning process and the role of a project planner.
* Awareness of the basics of project planning and scheduling.

Knowledge of project management tools, systems, and process

* Knowledge and experience of Primavera P6 is desired but not essential.
* Awareness of creating schedule reports (Cost, Schedule, Earned Value)

Knowledge of project Microsoft tools, systems

* Knowledge and experience of Microsoft toolset (e.g. Excel, Power Point, Word)

Stakeholder management:

* Experience of working with a team of internal cross functional stakeholders.
* Relationship building and maintaining a good level of communication with stakeholders.

Training and Qualification Requirements

* Basic Level user of Primavera P6 OR Microsoft Project - desirable
* APM Introductory or Equivalent – Ideally this qualificator or similar
* Awareness of project controls (Earned Value, Change Control and baseline management, Reporting)

Pay And Benefits

We anticipate paying a salary of between £28,800 - £38,000 DOE plus:-

* Bonus - On Target Performance Opportunity 7%
* Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
* Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
* Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
* Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
* Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
* £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
