Description An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Administration Team Leader at our partly automated site for Wincanton, on behalf of B&Q at our Worksop site. We offer a competitive salary with company benefits. THE ROLE The role will report to an FLM and will require flexibility in approach to shift patterns in order to meet operational requirements, the key responsibilities of the role includes: Achieve all departmental K.P.I’s through clear communication and ownership, (e.g. attendance and time keeping, productivity, quality, accuracy, damage limitation etc.) To manage a team within the area of responsibility. Support the Warehouse Administration FLM with informative daily team handovers / briefs. Support the team with daily task and advice. Monitor individuals performances against expectations, offering constructive feedback as means of encouragement. Cross training of Warehouse Administration staff supported by a robust skills matrix. Strict enforcement of Health & Safety on site, ensuring safe working practices are adhered to at all times. Complete in-depth accident / incident investigations in a timely manner identifying required actions and implementing correction to any contributing factors. Build inter-departmental relationships and communication in order to achieve an efficient operation. Identify individuals strengths / weaknesses and training needs through appraisals documenting and placing on personal files. Providing cover for the Warehouse Administration FLM in the event of Holidays / Absence Utilise resources efficiently to streamline the operation and maximise productivity. Using coaching and mentoring skills to ensure that all individuals are aware of their responsibilities and fulfill them. Effective control of M.H.E usage, ensuring damage/accidents are kept to a minimum by providing evidence of spot checks. Control/monitor use and condition of all equipment, i.e. M.H.E, HHT terminals, AMT terminals, racking and automation. Continually seek operational improvements. Enforce rigorous housekeeping programmes, maintaining records as references. Promoting the culture and values of the site, fully supporting equal opportunities. To undertake specific project work as and when required. Accurate and timely completion of defect reports and any other ad-hoc reports. Demonstrate flexibility and commitment within the role. Assist security with searches etc. as required. Any other reasonable request within the scope of the position. The Person: Educated to reasonable standard Acceptable levels of verbal and numerical skills Excellent man management skills Proven communication skills both internally / external Sound understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace PC literate to a good standard Understanding of Warehouse Management systems To lead by example, setting a high standard for subordinates to follow. Self-motivate, focused and able to rise to new challenges. Accepts constructive feedback and criticism as well as praise. Offers full support at all levels of the operation. Promotes the company and the customer through professionalism and by taking pride in job and appearance Accepts responsibility within the role and acts upon it to meet and exceed expectations. Promote effective teamwork Able to make decisions in the best interest of the company and our customer Certification in Management / Logistics (or equivalent) is desirable although not essential Analytical Skills, resourceful and able to think critically with the ability to find solutions and overcome challenges are desirable Able to work any five from seven.
