About the Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop independence. You will work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to deliver interventions, provide 1:1 support, and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning environment. Your support will help pupils reach their full potential and positively impact their educational experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.
* Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
* Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and sensitivity.
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and confidence.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience working with children with SEN or additional learning needs.
* Understanding of child development, behaviour support, and communication strategies.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow teacher guidance.
* Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting pupils.
* Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete all relevant safer recruitment checks.
