Overview
One of the UK's leading development businesses with a strong portfolio of both Wind and Solar projects across the UK is looking for a Senior Development Planner to join the team. You will take responsibility for providing professional planning advice, being a key point of contact with LPA's, relevant consultants and contacts, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Working on a range of projects as required by the Planning Director, commensurate with your skill level, experience and project complexity; this is likely to involve multiple projects and may require the preparation of applications and securing relevant approvals and consents.
* Collaborating with project teams to develop the planning strategy and project design at varying stages to achieve viable planning success.
* Preparing and completing planning deliverables (screening and scoping opinions, planning applications, Environmental Impact Assessments, appeals and representations) and securing satisfactory outputs (determination, permissions, consents, allocation, discharge of conditions).
* Procurring and managing relevant specialist consultants (planning, renewables, environmental and research areas) e.g. planners, EIA and environmental consultants.
* Liaising with planning authorities, key agencies and other consultees to meet information requirements and secure project support.
* Assisting in community liaison, attending exhibitions and meetings.
* Working safely at all times in accordance with Health and Safety Plan.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent with qualifications in, or relevant to, Town and Country Planning;
* Extensive experience in the preparation and coordination of planning applications and liaison with local planning authorities;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary project team and on an individual basis with minimal supervision;
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure;
* Experience with TCPA regime, and demonstrable experience of S36 and DCO regimes;
* Full UK Driving licence and willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice;
* Chartered status of the RTPI or IEMA;
* Experience of working on renewable energy projects, particularly wind;
* Working knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments.
