We are seeking an inspiring and positive SEND teacher to be part of our dedicated and supportive team at our St Peter’s site. We are looking for a committed and flexible teacher to deliver Citizenship lessons at KS3/4 and will be able to support lower school students in other subjects such as Art & design and Geography. A willingness to develop Careers Education in the school would be an advantage.
Our students are aged 11-17 years and all have an (EHCP); with communication and interaction as the primary area of need. With small class sizes we tailor our classroom delivery to meet every student’s individual needs.
We welcome applications from teachers with varied experience, including those with experience from Primary School settings, ECT teachers and will also consider unqualified teachers who wish to work towards a teaching qualification.
We are looking for a teacher who:
1. Has experience of teaching Citizenship at a Primary or Secondary level
2. Is enthusiastic and passionate about the subjects they teach and how they can impact positively on the lives of young people
3. Has a vision for the impact their subjects can have beyond the classroom, and develop students personally
4. Enjoys working with and forging positive relationships with young people and has the willingness to change their own approaches to best meet the needs of our students.
5. Is a reflective practitioner with a “can do” approach to teaching and a passion to raise standards
6. Will be a role model of positive and professional behaviour
7. Has the ability to support all children to explore and reach their full potential, and become well rounded, well balanced and confident young people
8. Is professional and committed to further personal development
9. Is committed to working as part of a dynamic team of professionals both in and out of the classroom.
