Job Purpose
As Head of Pack Engineering, you will be responsible for executing the development of core pack technology consisting of: Core Pack Design, Core Module Design, Core Electrical Architecture, Core BMS and Cell supervisory electronics. You will work with engineering functional leaders to acquire and build the team with the necessary skills sets to execute our product strategy.
The team will be allocated to the UK, India, and USA. The team will focus on product development for our customer base; JLR, TPEM and will support other Global OEM’s to grow the Agratas product portfolio.
This is a hybrid working role that will be based in our Coventry office.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Support VP in development and execution of strategic product plan that supports our customer strategy and focuses on reuse and flexibility across multiple applications of the technology
* Drive the team to build state of the art core battery technology that offers our customer base high quality, high performance at a competitive cost.
* Understand regional and global customer requirements to enable commonality but cost competitiveness for our customer base.
* Support engineering team to enable process compliance to ensure high product quality and fast time to market.
* Work closely with procurement to develop BOM targets, and cost models to assure competitiveness and profitability.
* Cooperate with advanced manufacturing to ensure DFM in line with our manufacturing capabilities and strategy.
* Develop unique selling points for our battery pack technology that enables an advantage for our customers.
* Ensure product performance around thermal propagation, thermal battery performance, crash Integrity while supporting customer ASIL requirements.
* Work with engineering functional teams to identify required skill sets for excellent product execution.
* Work with global application leaders to assess scope of new applications and adherence to our fundamental core products.
* Regularly assess talent and skill set pool to support the product portfolio and the near and future product strategy.
* Support bi-annual performance reviews for key functional leaders delegated to the development team.
* Plan, implement, industry standards, methodologies, team processes, and techniques including but not limited to ASPICE, ISO26262, ISO21434, Change Management, etc in pursuit of design quality and customer satisfaction in maline/core product
* Work with functional leaders to ensure the proper toolchains and CAE development tools are available for product execution.
* Support budgetary activities including but not limited to global distribution of technical resources, capital assets, establishment of support centres, the forecasting of resources needs
* Establish supply base to support mainline/core product development and engineering including component suppliers and engineering service providers
* Support ongoing product plan road mapping activities to ensure technical progression and continuous cost optimization as industry evolves
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience building and managing global engineering teams
* Experience with working across global engineering teams where local competencies and engineering costs are considered.
* Demonstrated expertise in the EV battery space across applicable engineering functions.
* Experience with Cell to Pack, cell to frame pack configurations.
* Experience with HV electrical architecture, thermal cooling systems, HV safety considerations, creepage and clearance rules.
* Past Implementation experience Implementing ASPICE processes.
* Core knowledge base in Functional Safety and Cyber Security
* Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical or Electromechanical Systems.
