Better places, thriving communities. Front Of House Security Officer - Manchester. Reporting to: Manchester Site Security Manager. Position: Permanent/Core. Rota Pattern: Monday to Friday only. Hours: 12 hours per shift. Pay: £14.25 an hour. Day shifts timings: 07:00 to 19:00.
Qualifications
* Skills for Security trained & certificated
* SIA licensed
* First Aid trained & certificated
* ACT Awareness certified (desirable)
* IT literate
Previous Experience
* Corporate Customer Services background (desirable)
* Ability to use MS Windows and MS Office applications
* A sound understanding of electronic security Access Control & CCTV systems (desirable)

Responsibilities & Specific Tasks
* Protection of Life, Protection of Property, Prevention of Crime, Prevention of Loss and Waste
* Develop and maintain first class customer service relations with client staff, all visitors, business partners, key stakeholders, including site security team
* Provide assistance, directions and guidance to visitors on arrival
* Attain and maintain knowledge of Site Assignment Instructions and Emergency Procedures including building lock downs, shelter in place, emergency evacuation and first aid response
* Log and transfer calls, relay messages and provide guidance and advice to visitors, clients, contractors and staff
* Escorting of contractors and cleaning operatives in line with agreed procedures
* Conduct fire watch and loss prevention patrols (internal & external) in line with policy
* Provide ad-hoc cover for receptionist breaks and support on-site events
* React positively and professionally in support of security operations and emergencies
* Complete site induction training and relevant corporate security trainings as required
Operational Duties
* Maintain a robust high visibility security posture in support of crime prevention
* Front of House presence reassures management, staff and visitors that the premises are safe and secure
* Monitor and control access to the front entrance, ensuring only authorised personnel are allowed on site
* Greet and assist staff and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
* Maintain a visible presence at the front entrance and deter potential security threats
* Provide directions, guidance, and information to individuals seeking assistance
* Collaborate with the Security Control Room and security personnel to ensure coordination during emergencies
* Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records
* Assist in coordinating special events with appropriate security measures
* Maintain high standards of professionalism at all times
* Identify suspicious behaviour and take non-confrontational action when needed
* Proactively observe the exterior and reception areas for suspicious activity
* Report any unusual activity promptly
* Work as part of a coordinated team in safety, risk and emergency response
* Provide immediate response to incidents and coordinate with others as needed
* Demonstrate situational awareness and high security risk awareness
* Utilise observation and surveillance skills to identify risks
* Understand guidance on crowd control, trespass, and protests
* Act in support of Emergency Response and coordinate with emergency services
* Support loading bay duties for mail/parcel deliveries where required
* Operate mail screening equipment as needed
* Be prepared to step up to supervisor or CCTV Controller roles under direction
* Maintain contact with client and management per instructions
* Follow routine site operating procedures
