Overview
This is a customer focused role providing a wide range of technical support for our broadcast clients based in the UK and Europe. We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic engineer/technician with a strong interest in the broadcast or professional AV environments at a technical level.
Responsibilities
* Provide first class technical onsite support and service to customers, accepting responsibility for resolving all issues promptly and professionally.
* Visit customer's premises to commission equipment.
* Provide operational and service training.
* Assist with customer acceptance testing.
* Provide direct phone and email support for our customer base.
* Comply with data protection requirements relevant to employment activities as necessary for legitimate interests pursued by the Controller in the recruitment process.
* Elicit and support customer needs with a focus on quality service and timely resolutions.
* Any other duties as required by the role.
* An education in Electronics or Electronic Engineering would be an advantage.
* Qualified through industrial or professional experience, and with broad digital video and audio experience would be an advantage.
* Previous experience testing, servicing and/or commissioning video and audio systems would be an advantage.
* Eagerness to learn technical aspects of baseband and IP based products and be able to self-educate to competency level given access to appropriate resources. Clear judgement when under pressure and the ability to manage difficult issues effectively to ensure good outcomes.
* Ability to work independently under own initiative and unsupervised on-site.
* Respect for colleagues; communicating with clarity and pro-actively sharing knowledge and expertise and asking for assistance where needed.
* Ability to adapt to changing demands and conditions and manage unexpected situations.

Skills and Knowledge
* Good working knowledge and understanding of video and audio infrastructures from a technical perspective.
* Good computer and networking knowledge, able to set up and troubleshoot PC and Linux-based systems, network infrastructure and Video/Audio over IP technologies.
Communication
* Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Fluent in English.
Planning and Organisation
* Can organise and plan their own work to meet tight deadlines, whilst simultaneously working on a variety of projects.
* Manage customer relationships, both internal and external.

* Self-motivated, with the ability to self-manage time, targets and workload.
* Enthusiastic and always maintains professionalism, even under extreme pressure.
* Flexible, willing and able to travel or work overtime at short notice.

* Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally.
