About the Role
EKFB is a joint venture delivering civil engineering works for HS2. We are seeking a Land Surveyor for the Twyford to Greatworth (T2G) section, based in the Brackley area. You will support the Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network, report and validate construction stages, and undertake land/topographic/hydrographic/measured building surveys using equipment such as robotics and 3D scanners.
You will analyze data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center and GIS. You will prepare survey drawings, present data to clients, and write reports. You will coordinate with Site Engineers on project priorities, plan changes or deviations, and with the consultant for inspection and approval. You will conduct setting out and as-built surveys, topographical and engineering surveys (laser scanner), manage Point Cloud data post-processing, GNSS network surveying, precise traversing and levelling, and contribute to drone surveys for earthwork measures.
Pre-employment checks will be undertaken if you are successful, including references, ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK; some roles may require BPSS security clearance.
Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network.
* Undertake land/topographic/hydrographic/measured building surveys using a variety of equipment (robotics, 3D scanners).
* Analyze data with AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and GIS; prepare survey drawings and reports.
* Coordinate with Site Engineers and the consultant for plan changes, deviations, and approvals.
* Carry out setting out and as-built surveys; perform topographical and engineering surveys (laser scanner).
* Manage registration and post-processing of Point Cloud Data; GNSS network surveying; precise traversing and levelling.
* Coordinate drone surveys for earthwork measures as required.
Qualifications
* HND/degree in Land Survey, Geomatics, or equivalent.
* Experience in a similar role and with similar values.
* Experience in preparing survey-related Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
* Expert knowledge of Trimble total stations, levels and GNSS receivers.
* Excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
* Good communication skills (written and verbal); solid report writing and compilation skills.
* Proficient in survey software such as Trimble Business Center.
* Full driving licence required.
