We have our ownprofessional development team within the Emergency department which iscommitted to provide ongoing training throughout your career in the EmergencyDepartment.
Your role as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) is to work alongsideregistered nurse as part of the ward or department team to provide care topatients.
The types of duties include: washing and dressing patients, servingpatients meals, assisting with feeding patients when necessary, helping peopleto mobilise, assisting patients with toileting, bed-making, generally assistingwith patients' overall comfort, monitoring patients' conditions by takingtemperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.
This role will require you to work variable hours on a rota includingnights and weekends.
You will show courage by embracing new ways of working and doing theright thing by the people you care for, including speaking up when you haveconcerns.

You will work within the minor injuries unit and assist with minordressings, eye washouts and applying plaster of paris to fractures.
You will make beds and help to ensure the ward/department is kept clean,tidy and safe.

You will safeguard vulnerable adults.
You will complete all mandatory training required for your role andcontinuously maintain your compliance at 95% or above.
You will be adaptable and flexible to working in various areas of thedepartment or ward as required.
