Project Engineer – Engine / Transmission / Driveline Development

12 month assignment (possibility of being extended)
Working Hours 8am-4:45pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-12:30pm Fri (Hours must be worked on-site)
An exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer has opened within the engineering team based in Shrewsbury. The role will focus on the verification and validation needs of powertrain products for primarily the defense land systems segment. The successful incumbent will play a key role in areas such as component resourcing validation, inline 6 engine applications support and integrated logistics documentation support.
What will the Project Engineer do?
* Creating test plans (DVP&R) to validate components / assemblies
* Run rig / dyno tests on components / assemblies and produce technical reports covering findings
* Conduct data analysis on test results using hand calculations and / or relevant simulation software as needed
* Support international customers to integrate inline 6 engine solutions into their various vehicle offerings, from sending initial tech data through to application sign off
* Support engineering team to pull together Integrated Logistics Support orientated tech data to meet customer aftermarket support needs
* Engage in stakeholder reviews, presenting to colleagues of all levels across engineering and other associated departments
* Communicate technical information to customers, team members, suppliers and other business units as needed
What experience does the Project Engineer need?
* An accredited engineering degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent experience
* Experience in a similar technical role, ideally with engine, transmission, or driveline development experience
* Experience in product testing of either components or complete assemblies
* Troubleshooting experience on complex products or systems
* Experience supporting customers to install, sign off product in application
* Excellent communications skills and the ability to build effective relationships
* Proven ability to deliver work to clearly defined plans within tight timescales
* A Willingness to travel to both customer and supplier locations as needed
Competitive Hourly Rate - Umbrella OR PAYE
