Join to apply for the Consultant Intensivist / Anaesthetist role at Blue Sky Marketing.
We are looking for two consultants in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine to join the Critical Care and theatre teams at Hampshire Hospitals Critical Care as we expand our rapidly growing service. Applicants on the Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine & Anaesthetics are welcome. Applicants with equivalent training evidenced by possession of Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) are encouraged to apply.
Our critical care facilities include an 18 bed Critical Care Unit at Basingstoke and a 9 bed unit at Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. The posts are substantive with base on the Basingstoke site; potential to expand to Winchester by mutual agreement. On-call in Critical Care 1:8, with potential for activity in Winchester by mutual agreement.
The posts are offered on a 10 PA contract. Critical Care will incorporate at least 4 PA (including on call). Anaesthetic work will constitute the remaining PA to make up 8.5 DCC PAs in a contract totaling 10 PAs. There is potential for more work up to total 12 PA on negotiation. SPA allowance starts at 1.5 PA; opportunities outside the department may be recognised in extra SPA time. Successful candidates may be required to work at any hospital sites if needed.
Responsibilities
* Provide a safe, effective, responsive, and caring anaesthetic and Critical Care service to a level expected by a Consultant.
* Agree a job plan with the Clinical Directors in Critical Care and Anaesthetics and work flexibly to accommodate Department needs.
* Participate in clinical governance, including incident reporting, investigation of serious incidents and handling complaints.
* Meet or exceed the standards of the National Patients Rights Charter.
* Familiarity with the Royal College of Anaesthetists and College of Intensive Care Medicine curricula for Junior Doctor Training and contribute to training requirements, including tutorials and educational supervision where required.
* Contribute to the department's training and clinical governance as part of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
