Main Responsibilities
To support the Operations Manager in the effective day-to-day running of leisure facilities, ensuring high standards of service delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role plays a key part in supervising staff, maintaining operational excellence, and assisting with the development of leisure programs and services.
Role and Responsibilities
Operations and Facility Management
* Assist with the daily management of the facility, including opening and closing procedures.
* Ensure all equipment, areas, and amenities are clean, safe, and fully operational.
* Support with routine inspections and coordinate maintenance or repair work as needed.
Staff Supervision
* Supervise frontline staff including lifeguards, Cafe team, receptionists, Fitness team, Senior leisure assistants, Duty Managers.
* Support staff training, inductions, and performance monitoring.
* Help manage staff rotas and ensure appropriate shift coverage.
* To cover leave within the Duty Manager team as required.
* Help support the Fitness Manager, GEX, Cafe Team leader and technical assistant, in the day to day operations of the building.
Customer Service
* Act as a point of contact for customer queries, feedback, and complaints, resolving issues efficiently.
* Maintain a welcoming environment and uphold high standards of customer care.
Health & Safety
* Monitor compliance with all health and safety procedures and regulations.
* Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and emergency drills.
* Ensure that first aid and emergency procedures are followed by all staff.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies
* To ensure all Health and Safety procedures and responsibilities are carried out at all times.
* To undertake any regulatory requirements.
Program Support
* Assist with organizing and delivering leisure programs, classes, and special events.
* Coordinate with the fitness Manager and team members to ensure smooth program delivery.
Administrative Duties
* Help maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and staff activities.
* Support financial processes such as stock management and basic reporting.
* To assist the Operations Manager in providing appropriate staff training and development.

Marketing and Promotion
* Collaborate with marketing teams to promote facilities and services.
Financial Oversight
* Assist the Operations Manager in managing budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective operations.
* Analyse income and usage reports to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
Other
* To deputise for the Operations Manager as requested.
* Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency
* To undertake any other duties as may be required by the Operations Manager to ensure that the business objectives are achieved.
Health & Safety
* Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act; and Achieve Lifestyle Health & Safety Manual.
* To ensure that all equipment is used correctly and in accordance with current legislation.
* To work within the required standards of health and safety policies
* To complete checklists as required and ensure the facility is inspected regularly for any defect or reduction in service quality, and report as necessary to line manager.
* Maintain any suggested training requirements.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
* National pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) (Essential)
* Pool Plant Operator (PPO) Qualification (Essential)
* IOSH (Desirable)
