Medical Technician/Junior Engineer
Location: Malmesbury
Salary: £28, £30, dependent on experience)
Essential Job Functions
Main duties and responsibilities:
* To perform calibration, electrical and functional safety testing on a wide range of medical equipment.
* Undertake fault finding and apply suitable techniques to diagnose problems exercising judgement to determine the causes of faults in devices with inter-related systems (e.g. electronic, computer, gas and mechanical systems).
* Provide analytical condition reports on the tested and calibrated equipment.
* Participate in Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on a range of medical equipment
* To maintain detailed records of equipment defects, work carried out, components used, expenditure and test results in the proprietary engineering database.
* To engage with third part vendors to identify and source spare parts and consumables, as required to support repairs and upgrades.
* Participate in learning and development activities to maintain professional knowledge and technical competency in line with current technology and standards.
* Involved in the continuous development of departmental process documentation and procedures.
* To work to targets to achieve the maximum potential for the department.
Qualifications/Skills
Essential
* ONC / OND level education
* Experience of testing and calibrating a wide range of medical equipment devices.
Desirable
* Knowledge of maintenance protocols and manufacturer specifications for quality and performance.
* Experience of implementing policies and procedures within a Quality Management System environment.
