Enthusiastic IT Support Engineer / Analyst with broad & proven support skills (Windows OS, software & network) sought by an established & successful Stroud based IT company.
The Systems Support Engineer provides support to both external clients as well as the internal team and offers lots of autonomy and opportunity to further improve both the systems & support processes.
You will have previous experience in a similar, broad role eg IT/Technical Support, Helpdesk or Application Support role, dealing with both software and infrastructure issues.
You will have proven diagnostic & problem-solving skills, a methodical approach and a tenacious attitude as well as strong, customer focused, communication skills to ensure efficient trouble-shooting & timely solution delivery.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of most of the following is essential:-
Windows Operating Systems (installation, configuration, start-up processes, crash dump analysis, performance issues).
Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, LAN/WAN) including diagnosing network connectivity issues, firewall rule analysis and use of tools & commands such as ping, tracert, nslookup, ipconfig, netstat, arp, telnet.
