Group Financial Accountants Apply now Job no: 548368 Work type: Full time Site: Redditch Categories: Finance Location: Worcestershire Business Area: Halfords Support Centre As our Group Financial Accountant you'll be a key member of the Financial Reporting Team supporting the business in ensuring the Group's financial results are reported accurately and inline with IFRS. What will the role involve? Responsibility for calculations and postings relating to key financial reporting areas such as Halfords' Motoring Club, Cycle2Work scheme, Warranty revenue, Gift card breakage Reconciling the Retail businesses Sales and Margin between the Point of Sales system and accounting system Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for balance sheet accounts within your areas of - responsibility Ownership of an area of the balance sheet, and assisting in providing commentary on monthly movements in this area Engage with the Group's external auditors for your areas of responsibility, including producing and updating accounting papers for new standards, key areas of judgement, and estimates used by management Assist with the monthly consolidation of the Group's results Assist with the production of the Group's financial statements and leading on the production of the statutory accounts for the Group's subsidiaries Assist the Group Financial Reporting Manager in providing ad-hoc accounting advice to the business The role is a key member of the Group Financial Reporting Team and provides exposure to other areas of the Group Finance Team as well as senior stakeholders such as the Financial Controller and CFO What skills and behaviours are we looking for? Qualified Accountant, either ACA or ACCA, either in a newly or recently qualified capacity and looking to grow your skills and experience in a fast paced environment. Willingness and enthusiasm to progress and succeed within the business. Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel. High attention to detail in every aspect of work undertaken ensuring accuracy of reporting and analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills as the role will involve dealing with senior stakeholders across the Halfords business. Enjoy working in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure. The ability to build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders. You will be a team player and support the finance team's objectives. Experience with financial reporting with multiple companies would be beneficial for the position. Hybrid working with 2 days a week in our support centre in Redditch Worcestershire will be required at times.
