Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Risley, a Category C male prison located near Warrington. HMP Risley offers a fast-paced, unique rewarding environment to learn and develop.
Join the Recovery Team and empower those who wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.
Hours: This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 8am to 4pm.
Salary: Annual salary £29,264 – £33,510, dependent on experience.

Candidate requirements
Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main Duties
* Deliver outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback – ensuring that care is personalised and tailored to the individual
* Manage a caseload of patients (around 30-40) with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma, etc.
* Deliver group sessions on overdose awareness, harm reduction, etc.
* Provide a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
* Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood-borne viruses and safe sex practices
* Prepare patients for release and transfer
* Deliver care on a 1:1 basis as well as group sessions

* Have experience within substance misuse, ideally a prison/secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker/Practitioner role
* Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
* Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
* Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
