About the Post:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Team Leader Capital Projects (9 months)to join our Economic Development management team.
Over £300 million of investment has been secured to deliver major regeneration projects in and around Barnsley town centre, strengthening Barnsley's reputation as a great place to live, work, visit and invest. This role is at the heart delivering transformative capital projects and our strategy to for inclusive economic growth so everyone can thrive.
Role Overview:
As Team Leader, you will lead and manage a small team of Economic Regeneration Project Managers to deliver impactful projects from start to finish, as well as lead on your own projects as well as collaborating with colleagues across the council and with public and private sector partners. Your role will involve coordinating with senior managers, Councillors, developers, and infrastructure providers to ensure successful project delivery.

About You:
We're looking for passionate individuals with a proven track record in delivering capital projects and leading teams. Key skills include:
* Excellent communication, negotiation and inter-personal skills
* Ability to work at senior levels within the organisation and with diverse stakeholders
* Ability to motivate staff and lead multi-disciplinary teams
* Ability to work under significant pressure, be self-motivated and use own initiative
Previous experience in Local Government is advantageous but not essential. We welcome candidates from the private sector who are eager to make a difference.
