Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s hospital is a large, RCVS-accredited Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic located in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire. Following a significant redevelopment, they are looking to grow their clinical team with the addition of a Small Animal Exotics Focused Veterinary Surgeon. This exciting role offers a chance to work in a progressive and supportive environment, with outstanding facilities and a strong existing caseload in exotic animal care.
Working Hours / Rota
The position is available on a full or part time basis. Flexible working arrangements are considered for the right candidate. Weekend and OOH responsibilities are not specified and can be discussed during the recruitment process.
Role Description
The successful candidate will be based at the recently refurbished hospital, which features modern equipment and a dedicated exotics caseload. Working alongside an experienced exotics vet, the role focuses on small animal and exotic pet care, with the support of a team of 20 vets. There are opportunities to contribute to the wider caseload and hospital services, pursue further qualifications, and be part of a socially active, friendly team. The practice encourages professional development and supports certificate-level study.
Team Size
The hospital is staffed by a large clinical team consisting of 20 veterinary surgeons, supported by a broad team of veterinary nurses and technicians. The team includes multiple certificate holders and professionals with varied clinical interests.
Practice Details
The hospital is RCVS-accredited and operates as an Emergency Services Clinic. Recent refurbishments have added state-of-the-art facilities, including 4 theatres, a dedicated imaging suite, in-house CT scanner, and a laboratory run by skilled technicians. The hospital handles a diverse and established exotics caseload and provides a supportive environment for further development in this field.
