Job Summary
Under the Data Protection Act, data subjects have a right to access and obtain copies of their records. This role assists in providing those records.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a small team, communicating effectively and courteously with a wide range of internal and external personnel.
* Locate personal files, both physical and electronic, and prepare them for disclosure to meet tight deadlines.
* Prioritise and manage the administrative workload of the department, escalating to supervisors when necessary.
* Identify and release information to outside agencies and individuals, restricting information where appropriate, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, the Access to Health Records Act 1990, and UK GDPR.
* Record all requests on Datix, the reporting system.
* Receive, log, and act on incidents of misfiled personal identifiable information.
* Take calls from the public, solicitors, and the police in response to their requests.
Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths.
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification and experience.
* Knowledge, experience, and understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Access to Health Records Act 1990.
* Previous experience of working within an office environment.
* Experience with Windows‑based packages, including Word, Excel, and Access Database.
Desirable
* Practical knowledge of the Data Protection Act.
* Practical knowledge of Records Management.
* Experience with PAS Basic Modules and other hospital IT systems.

* Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 a year pro‑rata
