Working to customer specification, we are looking to recruit an experienced Press Brake Operator top operate our Amada Press Brake. The role is a full time, permanent position that offers the opportunity for regular overtime where required by the business. The successful candidate will hold relevant experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably working with large piece of sheet metal. The role will require the capability of the successful candidate to be able to operate and set the machines, based on customer specification from Engineering drawings. The successful candidate will be expected to work on other tasks within the department where the role requires, but full training in this will be given and the role will predominantly be operating the Press Brake. Duties and responsibilities will include: Understanding drawings: Review and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to comprehend the required dimensions, angles and tolerances for the formed parts. Apply a knowledge of measurements to translate design specifications into precise machine settings for bending operations. Be competent to identify material thickness and types specified in the drawings to select the appropriate tooling and machine setting. Communicate with your Team Leader if you need clarification on any ambiguities or technical drawings to ensure the formed parts meet the required Quality standards Pay close attention to tolerance requirement specifications in the technical drawings to ensure the formed parts meet the required quality standards Fine tune machine settings based on nuances of the technical drawing to achieve precise bends and accurate dimensions Maintain accurate records of machine programs used for different parts, making it easier to reproduce specific bends in the future. Implement version control for machine programs, particularly when modifications are made to accommodate changes in technical drawings Prepare and set up the power press brake machine according to job specifications Install the appropriate tooling and dies for the specific bending requirements Inspect sheet steel material dimensions comply with the job requirements Program the power press brake machine with the necessary parameters, such as bending angles, back gauge positions and tooling requirements Input the correct program based on the specific part to be formed Operate the power press brake machine to bend and form sheet steel according to engineering drawings and job specifications Monitor the machine during operation to ensure accuracy and quality of formed parts Perform regular quality checks on formed parts to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards Make necessary adjustments to the machine settings to correct any deviations Load and unload sheet steel on to/from the power press brake machine safely and efficiently Move formed parts to designated areas or workstations for further processing Conduct routine maintenance on the power press brake machine to ensure optimal performance Identify and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to Manager or Team Leader Adhere to safety protocols or guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries Use PPE and follow safety procedures during machine operation Complete required documentation and paperwork related to machine operation and quality control The successful candidate should possess: Strong people manager with excellent communication skills Experience working with electrical enclosures (desired but not essential) Have the ability to read and understand technical drawings (desired but no essential) Have experience working in a manufacturing / engineering environment Capable of operating and setting a Press Brake (preferably Amada) Click on the APPLY button to start your application ADZN1_UKTJ
