Examples of projects that our groundwater team are working on at present include long-term water quality and water resources investigations for the WINEP and other drivers, as well as the development of private water supplies. We are also supporting major highways schemes, water companies and private developers on schemes across the country from the preliminary design and EIA stage through to construction, via the design and implementation of groundwater monitoring and testing programmes, groundwater flooding studies, dewatering assessment and permitting. As a Hydrogeologist you’ll support with technical work including calculations, drawings, sketches, reports. You’ll carry out site investigations within agreed timeframes, budgets and client expectations. You’ll utilise your technical expertise to develop services within existing clients and cultivate new clients.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
* A BSc and preferably either a MSc or PhD in hydrogeology or a closely related discipline.
* Have the desire to work towards achieving chartered membership with a relevant professional body such as the Geological Society or CIWEM.
* Relevant experience, primarily in water resources hydrogeology, engineering hydrogeology (including dewatering) and environmental impact assessment. Experience in borehole construction, rehabilitation, testing and abandonment is of benefit.
* The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members, contractors and clients.
* The ability to produce well-structured reports in clear English, and to critically review reports produced by others.
* The ability to maintain good links within the wider groundwater community to enhance technical knowledge, and to build and maintain contacts that may provide opportunities for collaboration or business development.
What’s in it for you?
