About the role
We are working with Airbus to recruit an experienced Building & Construction Project Leader to support a growing portfolio of capital investment (CAPEX) projects at their Broughton site.
In this role, you'll take ownership of projects from initial feasibility through design, delivery, and final handover, leading multi‑functional teams and ensuring all work is delivered safely, compliantly, and to a high technical standard. This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone with strong client‑side construction and project management experience within complex operational environments.
What you'll be doing
4. Setting up and leading CAPEX building and construction projects from inception to completion
5. Managing multi‑functional project teams, including internal stakeholders and external professional services
6. Leading the detailed design of building services, including major plant replacement and refurbishment works
7. Developing and managing project delivery plans, risks, and opportunities
8. Preparing and managing CAPEX business cases, from approval through to project close
9. Overseeing professional service work packages and monitoring on‑site installation works
10. Ensuring full compliance with Airbus procedures, technical standards, and health & safety requirements
11. Producing and presenting project documentation, reports, specifications, and cost information
12. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, architects, designers, and contractors
What we're looking for
13. Proven experience delivering capital investment construction projects, ideally in a senior project management role
14. Strong background in building and construction, with experience on the client side
15. Demonstrable experience taking projects from feasibility through design, site delivery, and handover
16. Practical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, including operation and maintenance
17. Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams, including external consultants and contractors
18. Ability to translate client briefs into clear construction scopes and design requirements
19. Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
20. ONC / HNC (or equivalent) in a building engineering services or design‑related discipline (experience is prioritised over qualifications)
21. Professional membership (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, IET) is advantageous
22. Competent using IT tools to produce reports, technical analysis, and project documentation (SharePoint / MS Project / G‑Suite experience preferred)
