Metsä Wood UK is looking for a Business Development Rep for the South East region. Manage, maintain and grow our National Customers at Branch level. You will represent Metsä services and products and be an important member of the team as part of the wider Merchant Sales Function.
Immediate Priorities
* Get to know the branches, the business and most importantly the people – we are looking for someone who connects well with people at every level, makes people feel valued and is very comfortable being in the field.
Main Responsibilities
* Maximising volume, sales and profitability of branch portfolio by formulating and implementing effective account management plans.
* Monitoring account performance against budget; implementing branch specific action plans to ensure targets are exceeded and working in conjunction with the branch to target specific customers and markets.
* Effective communication with all internal departments to ensure the customer experience is exceptional at every stage of the sales process.
* Working in partnership to create joint growth plans through product, market reviews, new ideas and initiatives.
* Develop strong working relationships with key decision makers such as branch manager, timber specialist and regional management.
* Ensuring customer issues are handled efficiently and professionally at all times.
* Utilising Metsä tools and reporting to analyse and make responsible commercial decisions.
* Effective use of CRM.
* Ensuring purchasing compliance with all branches where an agreed supply deal is in place.
* Driving centrally agreed promotions at branch level.
* Driving range compliance, merchandising standards, stock sequence & balance and POS.
* Training includes recruiting candidates for both online and residential courses, hosting academy courses and in-branch training support.
* Resolution of invoice queries.

Technical Experience
* Experience working in territory sales
* Desirable to have timber background

* Flexibility to travel throughout the UK with some nights spent away from home, where required.
Working Hours
* Flexible to meet needs of the business; core hours 37.5 hours per week.
* Travel – regular travel between UK locations.
