We are seeking a part time Personal Assistant to support a 32 year old young man who is a wheelchair user (the wheelchair is motorised). This young man lives independently near Harrow and plays a Paralympic sport and competing at national and international level. He attends: regular training sessions at a local gym, trainings, competitions which take place around the UK and internationally. The PA, will be part of a team of 3, and will share responsibilities. We are seeking an individual who is organised, methodical, able to work under pressure, be flexible, enjoys sport, driving and traveling. The successful candidates will be expected to : manage the young man's diary and support him in meeting his schedule and needs. Ability to drive, accompanying and supporting the young man when attending deferent venues such as universities, gyms and competition in various places and venues. to be flexible and able to work at the weekend Required knowledge about athletes and sportsman and the PA will also share responsibilities related to sport. Full training will be provided. Expected to accompany him to some of the national and international events and other activities to provide support (transport and accommodation will be provided) The international competitions last 3-10 days depending on location. A valid and current UK passport will be required. He has 3-6 competition per year. An excellent opportunity if the candidate likes traveling.(travel and accommodation cost provided) To learn and must become aware of and understand the sport Code of Conduct and must act professionally at all times and at all events, competitions and other activities and must not contravene any part of the Code of Conduct (including no drugs and alcohol permitted) at any time when with the young man. Full information will be provided as part of the induction. Timekeeping is a critical requirement in this role. The PA will also share responsibilities related to sport The young man will also require some emotional support especially in the build up to competitions. An understanding of mental health would be an advantage. The role is part time with a minimum of 15-20 hours per week, some overtime, especially on competition weekends (nearly every month), may be available. There is no expectation of overnight stays except when there are competitions or other activities as described above requiring overnight stays away from home in the UK and overseas.
