Job overview
Two full-time vacancies have arisen within the Estates Department for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to provide technical support services for the reactive/planned maintenance work in a variety of settings to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements. Operating as a mobile Maintenance Technician, you will receive your work from the Estates and Facilities Helpdesk.
The Estates Management Team of 40 directly employed staff forms part of the Estates and Facilities Directorate within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Team provides planned/reactive maintenance, and emergency services 24/7 365 days a year to 54 buildings across Nottinghamshire utilising mobile engineers across all building disciplines, we ensure that the Trust's buildings are fit for purpose and compliant with current legislation. This is achieved by assigning jobs via the Facilities Helpdesk to our engineers out in the field onto their handheld devices.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to organise your daily workload ensuring you complete the tasks in the given priorities. You will carry out maintenance requests in an efficient and effective manner to support the successful delivery of a customer focused estate maintenance service for the Trust.
Performing routine duties, you will have a flexible and positive approach and have the ability to deal with new situations as they arise passing on relevant knowledge to colleagues.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Applicants must have relevant electrical experience and qualifications, previous hospital maintenance experience or similar would be beneficial. You will be expected to attend an electrical to mechanical conversion training course enabling you to work across both electrical and mechanical disciplines, if required.
You would be expected to participate in the on-call rota for out of hours emergencies, covering all properties maintained by the Trust, which will attract a retainer payment (approx. £3,000 per annum) plus overtime.
In addition to your annual salary, a payment of £5,000 per annum Recruitment & Retention Premia will also be paid.

A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
A works vehicle will be provided for travel between sites, base and home.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
* Completed craft apprenticeship or recognised training with significant experience
* City and Guilds or equivalent advanced craft certificate in appropriate discipline.
* 18th Edition BS7671.
* Health and Safety Certificate.
* Management Qualification.
* Advanced Health and Safety Certificate.
* City and Guilds Elect Test and Inspection inc. Pat Testing.
Training
* LV Authorised Person training.
* First Aid.
Skills
* Good communication skills both written and verbal at all levels of authority
* Adaptable to change as required.
* Able to work in a well in a team and as a lone worker
* Use of mobile devices used in conjunction with the delivery of estates maintenance.
* Skills of other trades both building and engineering.
Physical Requirements
* Capable of climbing ladders and scaffolding, working at heights and in confined spaces.
* Carry out manual handling tasks.
* Has the ability to perform the full range of duties.
Experience
* Maintenance of building services and Electrical plant /equipment servicing and repairs.
* Multi skilling across all estate’s disciplines.
Knowledge
* In depth knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act
* Approved Codes of Practice and current regulations in relation to own discipline.
* Knowledge of Approved Codes of Practice/ Health Technical Memoranda in relation to NHS Estate and other disciplines
Contractual Requirements

* Participate in the Out of Hours On Call rota
* You may be required to use your personal vehicle for traveling between Trust sites during the course of your working day in accordance with Trust policy/procedure no: 10.09 subject: Travel & Expenses.
