Overview
This is a dynamic role that includes both strategic sales initiatives and hands-on customer engagement. This individual will be instrumental in driving sales and promoting the full range of products and services, whilst nurturing existing, and forging new client relationships. The ROW Sales Engineer will leverage their technical expertise to advise and meet the diverse needs of customers within the Geotechnical Industry. Working closely with the Sales Manager and the sales team, the Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth plans, identifying new business opportunities, and increasing market penetration within the assigned territory. The role is based in Reading and includes domestic and international travel for client visits, networking, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive sales growth through direct sales activities to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets;
* Promptly follow up on sales leads, prepare quotes, and process orders to ensure customer satisfaction;
* Prospect and generate new leads through networking, referrals, and other proactive approaches;
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and decision-makers within the industry;
* Manage new and existing opportunities through all stages of the sales cycle;
* Generate sales reports and forecasts as required and use Key Performance Indicators to drive and monitor success;
* Identify and track relevant projects and opportunities;
* Offer technical advice and support to clients on the application of product offerings and services, ensuring alignment with their requirements;
* Create, deliver presentations, and demonstrate products relative to customer needs;
* Follow up on sales leads, prepare quotes, and process orders to ensure customer satisfaction;
* Manage a fast-paced sales pipeline;
* Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, competitors’ products, and market conditions;
* Ensure that customer inquiries, concerns/complaints, and feedback are promptly addressed and/or escalated where necessary, ensuring customer satisfaction;
* Participate in regular production meetings to ensure orders align with customers’ expectations and delivery timelines;
* Oversee and ensure that the company CRM system is updated, all customer and sales data is accurate, current and relevant;
* Assist the Sales Manager with marketing campaigns, materials, and sales strategies that align with the company’s objectives;
* Create and monitor sales and order forecasts by month and quarter;
* Plan, coordinate, and execute sales and marketing events, including product launches, trade shows, exhibitions, and customer engagement events as required;
* Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Experience and Skills
* Minium 3-5 Yrs in technical sales, preferably within; Civil Engineering, Geotechnical or Material Testing Industry preferred;
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required;
* Experience with Export Sales, understanding INCOTERMS and having Letter of Credit experience/exposure required;
* Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and demonstrate products;
* Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
* Proficient in the use of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite;
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills;
* Self-motivator who is comfortable operating autonomously, yet within the Company guidelines.
