Job Title: Deputy Manager (1x Learning Disabilities Pathway)
Reports to: Operations Manager
Job Overview: (Note- In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required)
* To support the Operations Manager in the daily management and development of the supported living service and deputise for the Operations Manager during his/her absence.
* Staff Management and Supervision: Assisting the Registered Manager in supervising and supporting a team of care staff, including providing guidance, support, and performance management.
* Care Planning and Delivery: Ensuring that person-centered care plans are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed to meet the individual needs of residents.
* Quality Assurance and Compliance: Contributing to the maintenance of high standards of care, promoting a culture of safety and dignity, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
* Deputizing for the Op's Manager: Taking on the responsibilities of the Registered Manager in their absence.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Liaising with external stakeholders such as CQC, commissioners, and families.
* Service Development: Contributing to the continuous improvement of the service, including staff training and development, and promoting positive outcomes for residents.
* Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents by promoting a safe environment and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
* Skills and Experience:
* Experience in supported living and complex mental health services / LD and Autism services
* Previous experience working with individuals with mental health conditions in a supported living setting is required working towards or completed level 3 in social and health care.
* Previous experience working with individuals with a learning disability and or Autism in a supported living setting is required working towards or completed level 3 in social and health care.
* Supervisory and leadership skills: The ability to effectively lead, motivate, and support a team of care staff.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations: Understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Capacity Act, and the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.

* A dedication to providing individualized support that respects the rights and choices of residents.
Location: The service's premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
Working Hours: 5 days over a 7-day period, as agreed with the manager. - on call total
Role-specific Duties:
The Deputy responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Ensure service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
* The efficient and effective day-to-day management of the human resources involved in providing care through the staff team and ensuring that the required standards are maintained
* Ensuring all recording systems and organisational documentation are of a high standard and kept up to date
* To ensure all staff at the service receive formal supervision and appraisals
* Oversee the duty rota monthly in advance, ensuring the correct number of staff and skill mix as needed
* Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
* Working with Others: Develop effective working relationships with all employees within the service
* Work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for people in the service
* Other Duties: Other duties and responsibilities to be undertaken may include any (or all) of the items in the following list: Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
* Work within the relevant Code of Conduct
Personal and Professional Development:
* Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management
* Experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS): If the service uses PBS, experience with this approach can be beneficial.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures: Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and the ability to respond effectively to safeguarding concerns.
* Experience in care planning and risk assessment: Skills in developing and implementing care plans and assessing and managing risks.
