Position Title: Workshop Manual Engineer
Duration: Contract - 12 Months
Location: Whitley - Coventry
Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.
What To Expect
* A Workshop Manual Engineer is responsible for creation, and ongoing maintenance of Workshop Manual (WSM) content within TOPIx.
* WSM content should prioritise technician experience first, delivering accurate, and methodical processes that support efficient vehicle repair.
* The Workshop Manual Author works closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including:
* Workshop Manual Leads
* Product Engineering
* SERP
* Service Programme Leads
* TOPIx Commodity Leads
* Service Tooling
* Markets (NSCs)
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Creation of TOPIx WSM content
* Conduct virtual validation of procedures using CAD
* Conduct physical validation of procedures using prototype and production vehicles/units to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and repeatability.
* Identify, communicate repair and serviceability issues to the Clients' stakeholders, providing well-reasoned proposals to support effective resolutions.
* Monitor, investigate, and resolve technician feedback submitted through TOPIx to continually improve WSM content and technician experience.
What You'll Need
* Essential: Knowledge of whole vehicle systems and understanding of the latest vehicle technologies
* Essential: Good communication, interpersonal skills
* Essential: Working experience of CAD 3DX, Vis Mock Up or other CAD tools
* Essential: Ability to prioritise the technician experience with discussions with the Clients' stakeholders
* Essential: Qualified vehicle technician
* Desirable: Understanding of franchised retailer workshops
* Desirable: Automotive serviceability knowledge
* Desirable: UK Driving licence
* Desirable: Knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)

* Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and workshop processes (experience in franchised retail workshops highly desirable).
* Strong problem solving ability and a logical, process driven approach.
* Clear and persuasive communicator who can influence stakeholders and advocate for technician first solutions.
* A supportive, coaching oriented leader who can guide and upskill WSM authors.
* Confident managing workloads, setting priorities, and ensuring content quality.
