About The Pub:
Nestled in the heart of Teignmouth, Ye Olde Jolly Sailor is steeped in history as the oldest building in town. Serving a loyal community of locals and welcoming holidaymakers year-round, we pride ourselves on our warm atmosphere, traditional charm, and excellent food and drink offerings. With regular quiz nights, seasonal promotions, and a reputation for great service, we are seeking a dedicated Pub Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of this beloved establishment.
Role Overview:
As Pub Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the pub's operations, ensuring it runs efficiently while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This is a hands-on role that requires leadership, business acumen, and a passion for the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Team Management: Recruit, train, and motivate a team of bar, kitchen, and front-of-house staff, Fostering a positive work environment to ensure high staff morale and retention.
* Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service.
Operations Management:
* Oversee daily operations, including food and beverage service, cleanliness, and compliance with licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
* Ensure the smooth running of regular events, including quiz nights and promotions.
* Work with the kitchen team to maintain a high-quality food offering that complements the drink menu.
Customer Experience:
* Build strong relationships with customers, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
* Respond promptly to customer feedback and resolve complaints effectively.
Financial Management:
* Manage budgets, stock control, and ordering to ensure profitability.
* Monitor and analyse sales performance, implementing strategies to increase revenue.
* Maintain accurate records for cash handling and financial reporting.
Marketing & Promotions:
* Drive footfall through effective marketing, social media presence, and seasonal promotions, Working with our internal team to develop and implement creative ideas for events and activities to attract both locals and visitors.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in pub management or a similar hospitality role.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Sound knowledge of licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and financial management.
* Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
