We are looking to recruit one full time Account Manager to our busy Council Tax and NNDR Services. This role will be based in the business rates team.
Are you someone who enjoys a challenge? Who likes to take ownership and see things through? Who wouldn’t be daunted by helping Manchester residents and businesses resolve their issues with council tax or NNDR and secure vital revenue for the Council? If so, this could be the role for you.

Our service is unique, we have a link into every domestic and commercial property within the city. This makes the role of an Account Manager interesting and a great career choice.

Our Account Managers provide a high quality, holistic approach to maximising collection for the Council and are expected to come up with innovative solutions for difficult cases as well as having difficult conversations with residents and businesses.

As an Account Manager you will deal with complex casework covering all aspects of local taxation administration and collection. This includes complex liability and recovery issues as well as managing your own caseload and meeting performance target.

This role will give you the chance to also prepare cases for committal and insolvency and support other officers who will prosecute at court for the Council.

From time to time our Account Managers help with projects and new ideas so the role offers you the opportunity to develop your skills.

If you are interested in helping Manchester residents and businesses as well as maximise income due to the Council, we would like to hear from you.

We are a friendly team and mainly work from home with some office days based at our newly refurbished offices in Alexandra House on Moss Lane East in Hulme.

We are also able to offer great flexibility with these roles to help you maintain a healthy work life balance. This includes flexi time and the option of building up to two days flexi leave every four weeks.


About the Candidate

As an Account Manager you should put our customers at the heart of what you do.You will be an excellent team player and work with your colleagues to come up with solutions to difficult cases.

You will be a person who embraces change and is not afraid of a challenge as we continually look to improve our services and performance.

You will be self motivated and use personal drive to get results within expected timescales.

To achieve your targets and help us improve our Service you will have excellent communication, ICT and administrative skills as well as being able to plan and organise yourself.
