Oncology Pharmacist | Spire Dunedin Reading | Permanent | Full Time or Part Time | Competitive Salary
Spire Dunedin has a new opportunity for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our specialist Oncology Pharmacy Team.
In this role you will lead, manage and deliver our specialist pharmacy service for oncology, ensuring the highest standards and patient care. You will provide expert advice and support to consultants, clinicians, and patients playing a key role in the safe and effective use of oncology medications.

Duties and responsibilities:
1. To provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and clinical requirements.
2. To be responsible for leading, managing and delivering the specialist pharmacy service of oncology.
3. To provide advice and support to consultants, other clinicians and patients ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.
4. To advise the hospital and its departments on the safe management of medicines, ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
5. To promote a multidisciplinary, patient-focused approach to the delivery of an efficient, high-quality healthcare service.
6. Plan, deliver and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patients' health and well-being needs.
7. Assess the health and well-being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicines.
8. Plan, monitor and evaluate the movement of medicines.
9. Establish and maintain effective communication with individuals and groups on complex, sensitive and occasionally contentious issues in a range of situations.
10. Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
11. Modify and structure data, information, computer records and stock management documents.
12. Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology for the provision of chemotherapy treatment.
13. Monitor and maintain physical and/or financial resources for a work area.
14. Assist with research and the collection of factual data and information.
15. Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility.
Who we're looking for:
1. Degree (BSc/MSc Hons).
2. Be GPHC registered - your registration should not have any restrictions or conditions.
3. Previous experience as a pharmacist specialising in the provision of an oncology service.
4. Previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy.
5. Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient requirements.
6. Highly specialist knowledge through a diploma in clinical pharmacy and/or acquired through training and experience, particularly in the field of oncology.
7. Competence across a range of pharmaceutical subjects.
