To ensure a viable, efficient, and reliable energy future for all## Job Description**Assystem Energy & Infrastructure** are recruiting for a **Mechanical Design Engineer** to work at our customers site in **Warrington**on a contract basis.The Design Engineer is responsible for the creation of component/assembly designs and associated through life justification that meet their requirements and product attributes, ie life, cost availability and safety margins.**Role details:*** **Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer*** **Contract length: 12 months*** **Location: Warrington*** **Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella solution****Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:*** To understand Product system / sub-system requirements and derive Component requirements at task level.* To produce robust design solutions which are insensitive to variation to address specified requirements.* To collaborate and communicate design solution information with task stakeholders.* To search for, capture, store, and re-use knowledge relating to design activity.* To understand and apply the commodity standards and to create new standards where none exist.* To liaise with manufacturing and service engineering to actively integrate the experience and knowledge from these areas.* To check own and others design a solutions and technical for completeness and correctness.**Qualifications** **and Experience:*** Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.* Technical experience relevant to the engineering discipline.* An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.* Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and justification.* Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards.* Experience as design engineer operating across the product life cycle, undertaking design safety justification activites supporting manufacturing, integration, maintenance /refit activities and dealing with operational issues.* Experience of Research and development, analytical and test verification activities.* Experience in the development of methods, standards and processes.**Please be aware that many roles at Assystem are subject to both security and export control restrictions.****These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held,****and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation.****All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
