Electric Square is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Senior Technical Designer to join our Brighton-based team working on an exciting, critically acclaimed franchise. Candidates must be located within European time zones.
Role Overview:
* Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to architect new features, ensuring requirements are met.
* Understand and expand existing systems or create new game systems as needed.
* Conduct rapid prototyping to validate game ideas.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of professional experience, with at least one released project as a technical designer working with UE5.
* Expert knowledge of the Gameplay Ability System (GAS).
* Ability to create and modify GAS attribute sets in C++.
* Proficiency in extending class functionality in C++ to influence more in-game elements.
* Advanced blueprinting skills, including networking and optimization support.
* Experience creating tools for designers using blueprinting.
* Strong debugging skills for blueprints, providing technical feedback and setting team standards.
* Ability to communicate technical changes effectively to less technical team members.
* Effective planning, estimating, and scheduling of technical design work.
Skills:
* Concise articulation of game concepts and mechanics analysis.
* Ability to interpret feedback and develop action plans.
* Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management and workload prioritization.
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and pride in quality delivery.
