An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our care home management team in Fife Council’s Residential and Day Services (East) on a permanent basis.
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with experience to be accountable for the management and effective running of a care home for Older People within residential and day services. We are looking for an individual who thrives in leading change and embraces challenges within a highly complex yet rewarding environment. You will provide strong leadership and direction to staff, monitoring and managing individual and team performance by ensuring the highest standards of professional practice are met and that quality assurance mechanisms are in place.
Matthew Fyfe is a 32 bedded care home, which provides ongoing care and support to vulnerable older people. The care home provides support to service users who are requiring long term care whilst ensuring the dignity, independence and individuality of service users and encouraging their participation in the running of the unit
The role requires on-call duties overnight and at weekends which is on a rota system with other managers in the service, paid additionally to your salary. A mobile phone and laptop are provided to support you in your role.

The Person
1. Must meet the qualifications requirement: SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 9. Or a qualification meeting the SSSC registration requirements for the following professional groups regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council.
2. Provide leadership within a care home for older people on behalf of the Council, ensuring compliance with statute, regulation, and guidance, establishing best practice in meeting the needs of older people in residential care.
3. Work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of services.
4. You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
