The Role
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming multi-axis CNC Milling and Mill Turn machines to produce precision components to exact specifications. You'll work as part of a collaborative production team, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Set, operate, and program CNC Milling and Mill Turn multi-axis machines (3, 4, and 5 Axis)
2. Produce precision-engineered components to detailed specifications within tight tolerances
3. Work to agreed production timescales and complete all associated paperwork
4. Liaise with the Production Supervisor and team members to ensure workflow efficiency
5. Ensure compliance with all company and customer quality and safety standards
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
6. Proven experience setting, operating, and programming CNC Milling and multi-axis machinery
7. Strong understanding of fixtures, tooling, feeds, and speeds for various raw materials
8. Experience with FANUC, Okuma, ISO, or Mazatrol programming
9. Knowledge of live tooling and LEAN manufacturing principles
10. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
11. Confident using manual measuring equipment
Desirable:
12. Experience with Victor, Hyundai, or Doosan machine tool lathes
13. Knowledge of CMM inspection and measuring techniques
14. Advanced CAD/CAM experience (SolidWorks, hyperMILL, Mastercam)
15. Formal Engineering Qualification (City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent)
16. Apprentice-trained background
