Job Description:
A Major Tier 1 Manufacturer in the Automotive sector is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join their team at their site in Telford.
The ideal candidate will be a hardworking and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating in an Automotive Tier 1 environment and reporting to the Facilities Cell Leader, you should have strong electrical and mechanical skills, with experience in facilities such as plumbing, electrics, and more.
This is a fantastic opportunity with a global company supplying to some of the industry's biggest clients. The facilities department currently operates on a straight days shift pattern; however, it will change to a rotating two-shift pattern (07:00 – 15:00 & 15:00 – 23:00).
Role: Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Location: Telford
Salary: £46,000
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform daily plant inspections and record readings as required by company and legal standards.
* Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on factory equipment and services.
* Maintain critical site services, including electrical systems, air supply, process cooling water, soft water, and potable/non-potable water.
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults on industrial machinery.
* Carry out electrical installations in compliance with current regulations.
* Monitor and control legionella risks within the factory and cooling towers per statutory guidelines.
* Test fire protection systems as per insurance requirements.
* Oversee and maintain AHU and AC systems.
* Install new equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
* Perform external maintenance work.
* Inspect and rebuild pumps as needed.
* Ensure proper function of sanitation systems.
* Respond to spills and urgent facility issues.
* Maintain abatement plants per statutory obligations.
* Oversee wastewater treatment to meet discharge limits.
* Uphold 5S workplace organization.
* Step in for the Facilities Cell Leader when required.
* Supervise contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
* Follow safe working practices and PPE requirements.
Key Requirements:
* Ability to work independently or in a team.
* Strong electrical knowledge and skills.
* Experience in pipe fitting, installations, and repairs.
* Proficiency in plumbing.
* Skilled in disassembling and rebuilding pumps.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
* 18th Edition Electrical Certification preferred.
