KPMG is expanding its Tax and Legal practice to better support clients with their pensions obligations. Our pensions team collaborates with over 2,400 colleagues, delivering advice on pension provision and related issues for ongoing operations and transactions.
We are seeking an experienced Consultant for our pensions actuarial team, responsible for providing high-quality advice on defined benefit pension schemes in the private sector.
The role involves working closely with senior team members to provide:
* Strategic planning and risk management for self-sufficiency or buyout, including surplus use.
* Funding advice to sponsors and compliance guidance with DB funding codes.
* Pension due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
* Member education and communication.
* Advice on benefit design, changes, and implementation.
* Governance and compliance advice.
* Pensions accounting advice.
Description of the Role
* Understanding of defined benefit pension schemes and actuarial liability calculations.
* Knowledge of pension accounting.
* Analyzing client data using actuarial techniques and models.
* Producing technical actuarial work adhering to standards and quality procedures.
* Checking reasonableness of assumptions and results with developed tools.
* Drafting reports/emails from outputs.
* Supporting case management and administrative tasks.
* Managing end-to-end client projects within deadlines.
* Developing technical expertise.
* Communicating effectively within the team.
* Financial management, billing, and debt collection.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements
* Experience in pensions actuarial work, preferably in a consultancy or Big 4 firm.
* Basic knowledge of pension valuations, methodologies, and the UK pensions landscape.
