Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a passionate Learning Support Assistant to work within an outstanding SEND secondary school for students aged 11–19.
The school provides a highly supportive and stimulating environment, featuring excellent facilities such as a therapy pool and a fully equipped sensory room. These resources enable pupils to engage, develop, and thrive in their learning journey.
The academy supports approximately 204 students with a range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism, and complex medical conditions. Every pupil is encouraged and supported to achieve their full potential in a nurturing setting.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 15:30 and is a long-term position given a successful trial.

The ideal LSA will:
Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
Have experience of working in a transferable role
Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil’s requirements
Participate in the planning and implementation of the child’s curriculum through lesson planning
Possess good classroom skills
Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil
