Our Community Facilities team manage a variety of community buildings and assets across Crawley including our town hall and associated commercial office space, community centres, sports pavilions and town centre CCTV installations. We are looking for somebody with a background in facilities management and / or contract management to support our Community Facilities function. Reporting to the Community Facilities Manager, this important position has been created to bring additional facilities management capacity and experience as we enter an exciting phase with completion of a new town hall, commercial offices and a town centre district heat network all programmed for 2022. Reporting to the Community Facilities Manager, this important post offers significant opportunity to shape change across this service area. Specifically your role will include:
* Developing, implementing and reviewing quality management systems which oversee the day to day duties and activities of our facilities officers
* Working with the council's maintenance and cleaning contractors to ensure these contracted functions provide best value and are responsive to customer requirements
* Implementing capital and planned maintenance improvement projects to ensure the council's facilities operate to a high standard and are responsive to changing customer demands
* Lead the client for the town centre district heat network, ensuring the council's operations, maintenance and billing contractor is compliant with our specified requirements
* Developing and implementing quality compliance systems thereby ensuring required licensing, certification and compliance functions are in place
This position offers the opportunity to manage a broad range of facilities, buildings and assets. Although ideally you will have facilities management, compliance or contract management experience, we are happy to consider applicants with relevant transferable skills. * The post will be based at Crawley's new town hall although it will be expected that the post holder will visit various facilities and sites across the town as required to fulfil the duties of the post.
Flexible hybrid working is available for staff who may find this beneficial.
The working pattern will be 37 hours per week. These will normally be daytime office hours however occasional evening and weekend working may be required to support the duties of the post.
A full current UK driving licence will be a requirement of the role.
