The role
As a Principal Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer (EC&I), you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be a key contributor to a major civil nuclear decommissioning programme. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and integrate complex mechanical systems, applying innovative engineering solutions to support the safe deconstruction and future‑proofing of nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to
* Promote effective collaboration across Engineering and other functional teams
* Interface with customers and the supply chain on design issues and support procurement specifications
* Ensure correct application of procedures, codes and standards to technical and engineering activities
* Contribute to product safety assessments and act as a technical interface with stakeholders
* Conduct technical investigations and analysis to resolve problems and improve designs
* Drive process improvements across the operational/design lifecycle to enhance quality and efficiency
Employment Details
This is a full‑time role working 37 hours per week. The role can be based at one of Cavendish Nuclear’s key locations including Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicestershire), Humberside (East Yorkshire), Cumbria (Westlakes), Preston (Lancashire), Newbury (Berkshire) or Bristol. Hybrid working patterns are available, with an expectation of three days per week on site.
Essential Experience
* Understanding of IEC-61508 and IEC-61511 standards
* Familiar with the nuclear functional safety lifecycle
* SIL determination and verification
* Experience working with the safety case team
Qualifications
* Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline and/or Chartered status or actively working towards Chartered status
Security Clearance
