Purpose:
To provide administrative support to the Alde Sandlings Benefice and be an effective centre for co-ordination, information, communication and administration for church operations.
To be the public face of the churches dealing with the general public and their enquiries.
Responsible For:
* Handling benefice communications and publications, creating and distributing bulletins and newsletters
* Assisting with scheduling meetings, hiring of facilities and enforcing policies regarding facility use
* Building and maintaining relationships with the congregation and community
* Providing administrative assistance to the ministry team.
Duties Include:
* Liaise with key members of other churches
* Maintaining benefice website
* Update 'A Church Near You' websites in discussion with the 4 parishes
* Maintaining benefice online calendar
* Prepare monthly benefice calendars
* Preparing and distributing the benefice weekly newsletter
* Manage the mailing list for the newsletter
* Answer/ forward website and email queries regarding benefice matters
* Create posters/ flyers when required
* Coordinate bookings of church buildings
* Create and format any Orders of Service (and keep numbers topped up)
* Gather the figures for the end of year returns in discussion with the 4 parishes
* Collating Hymns across the benefice
* Electoral Roll Officer in discussion with the 4 parishes
* Along with the Rector being the first point of call for weddings and funerals
* Update notice boards (Aldeburgh only)
* Car Park Permits (Aldeburgh only)
* Completing all annual music returns (Aldeburgh only)
* Booking organists for services (Aldeburgh + some across benefice)

Hours and Salary:
15 hours per week, to be worked flexible hours between Monday – Friday.
£15 per hour, to be reviewed annually.
Location:
The role is home-based with the requirement to visit the benefice office as required to complete administration tasks such as photocopying. As the role is home-based there is a requirement to have a reliable internet connection and a good mobile phone signal.
